About the Speaker:Li joined Bloomberg in 2017 as a Market Specialist where he is responsible for Charts, Technical Analysis & Data Visualization. His recent market insights are frequently featured on Bloomberg “Functions For the Market” (FFM<GO>), Bloomberg News and Bloomberg Chartbooks.
His January 2018 article “Powerful Cycles Cloud Emerging Market Rally as 2011 High Passed” forecasted a multi-year bearish cycle, while another article in April 2020 “Worst Looks Over for Oil If You Are Brave Enough to Trust Charts” captured the low of crude oil price preceding a more than 300% rise within three months. Most recently his July article “VIX Flags Bigger Stock Swings As Havens Favor Gold, Bitcoin” highlighted increasing risk in stock market.
Li holds both Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst® (CAIA) designations. He graduated from University of Hong Kong with a master’s degree in computer science. His master thesis applied machine learning algorithms in the field of stock market prediction.
Prior to joining Bloomberg, Li was a technical analyst providing quantitative research and trade ideas to hedge fund and private banking clients.
Ron William is a Market Strategist, with +20-years of experience, working for leading economic Research & Institutional firms; producing macro research and trading strategies. He specializes in blended, top-down, semi- discretionary analysis, driven by cycles and proprietary timing models.
Ron is also a Behavioural Finance Expert, Trading Psychologist & Performance Coach. He uses latest techniques in behavioural/risk assessment modelling, peak-performance, neuro/body science and stress response management (SRM), including mindfulness & coherence training; supported by his market strategies.
Ron’s primary work, as part of his current institutional market advisory firm (RWA), acquired global industry recognition with multiple Finalist Awards for “Best Specialist Research/& FX”. His market insights are also featured regularly across leading financial media programs (notably, Volatility Re-awakening & Tech Sector) and industry publications (2019 Bear Market Rally, Bitcoin-Digital Asset Paradigm & Bond Yield Spike Risk).
Previously, Ron was a senior Tactical & Market Timing Strategist at the ECU Group, a Global Macro Investment & Advisory Firm. He was part of the Multi-Asset Research & Advisory Team, headed by veteran technician Robin Griffiths; applying his signature “Roadmap” cycle model.He dedicated 4-years working at Bloomberg L.P as a senior TA Specialist, responsible for training/consultation across the EMEA region, and contributed to the development of charting strategies and the TA platform of their Bloomberg Professional Service™.
Driven by high integrity education, Ron serves on the board of the International Federation of Technical Analysis (IFTA), Heads the Swiss Association of Market Technician (SAMT) Geneva Chapter and consults with multiple education & regulatory groups. He was also invited by the House of Commons, to join an industry guidance team, following the official launch of an All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), in Digital Currencies.
